Eines Tages erhalten die Schwestern eine Nachricht, die alles verändert: Ihr Vater Papis, ein eigensinniger Nietzsche-Fan, der vor mehr als vierzig Jahren aus dem Senegal nach Deutschland kam, ist unerwartet verstorben. Da die Trauerfeier in seiner alten Heimat stattfinden soll, begeben sich Zazie und Dieo auf eine Reise in das westafrikanische Land. Der Abschied wird für die beiden zu einem Neuanfang - in vielerlei Hinsicht.
